The Orobanche minor stem-tip shows several buds covered by brown, white-haired sepals and bracts. The sepal lobe tips are not as long as later seen on open flowers, and the buds closer together than the open flowers on the elongated stem part lower down (Visser, 1981; iNaturalist; Wikipedia).
