    Adromischus hemisphaericus ridged margins

    Adromischus hemisphaericus ridged margins
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The stalked leaves of Adromischus hemisphaericus may be thick, prominently ridged along the upper margins and taper to the base in a wedge-shape. Some older margins develop a zigzag shape, appearing cartilaginous, while others adopt a coarse unevenness.

These older leaves are velvety-surfaced with some faint, blackish blotches, variable from leaf to leaf. The darkening increases with age (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
