    The home of Edmondia pinifolia is among the higher elevations of southwestern Cape fynbos slopes. Sandstone boulders abound here. It is often the tight rock slits that offer eye-catching perches for these plants.

    The species is doing well in habitat, its upper slope living space not easily arable and left alone by people other than flower pickers for now (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; www.redlist.sanbi.org).
