This old Aizoon karooicum plant has black woody patches of past growth topped with sparsely scattered tiny leaf rosettes. Popular with grazers, plants in habitat typically show signs of sacrifice in old age. Still, some flowering is managed by this one near Oudtshoorn in April (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984).
