Seen close-up, the leaves of Lasiosiphon deserticola are thick with entire margins. Their generally green colour is yellowish on the margins and along the midrib. Leaf margins may also sometimes be reddish, especially near their tips.

The leaf base tapers slightly, sessile or stalkless upon the stem. The leaf tips are acutely pointed. There is some faint, but variable hairiness upon the leaves. Leaves become 10 mm long and 5 mm wide (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot).
