    Seen from a side angle, this Aspalathus aspalathoides flowerhead has open flowers and buds at various stages of getting there.

    The keels between the lateral wing petals are boat-shaped and somewhat hairy. There are mucronate tips on the standard petals. The calyces are sparsely hairy (Manning, 2007).
