The violet petal colour on these numerous but few-flowered pseudo-umbels is among the darker shades found on Pelargonium ionidiflorum flowers. The upper petals are joined to each other from the base to more than halfway up, their central maroon markings joined, forming a Y-shape. These markings may on some flowers be differentiated into various line and colour blotch sub-parts.

Sepals and pedicels have a dark wine-red colouring, only slightly darker than the petal markings, while buds yet to open are yellow-green (iNaturalist; www.plantzafrica.com).
