Disa stachyoides bract lances among flowers

Floral bracts of this Disa stachyoides inflorescence are bright green, concave on the inside and acutely pointed. They manage to remain roughly erect, dodging the corolla parts that bypass them for showing their colours to pollinators. Both bracts and flowers end up slightly skewed from the bustle of this exercise. The lateral sepals dangle down and forward like dogs' ears. 

The longer, narrow leaves below the inflorescence angle out around the flowers (Pooley, 1998; Onderstall, 1984; Trauseld, 1969; iNaturalist).
