Disa versicolor pale flowers

This dense Disa versicolor inflorescence does justice to its specific name of versicolor that suggests colour variety, by presenting these less seen pale flower colours. Lower down on the spike the flower hoods that bow modestly are buff coloured; higher up, equally well mannered, they are white.

The browned, withered tips of the bracts below every flower, longer than the flowers themselves start off erect over the buds, turning down as the flowers open. This appears inconsistent where it is difficult to see whether a flower is open yet, while some lower flowers seem to disagree (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
