Pelargonium reniforme leaves

The leaf shape of Pelargonium reniforme shows where the specific name, reniforme (from Latin), comes from: Kidney-shaped is fitting, although heart-shaped or triangular might also do.

Veins radiate out from the leaf centre, sometimes along faint pleat lines. The leaves are soft and silvery from the velvety hairs on their undulating surfaces. Leaf margins are broadly lobed and finely serrated. The leaf diameter is about 2,5 cm.

The long leaf petioles are typical. Awl-shaped stipules are present on the stems at the petiole bases (Gledhill, 1981; iNaturalist; www.plantzafrica.com).
