Adromischus marianiae var. marianiae is a small succulent, one of four recognised varieties of A. marianiae.

Its long, succulent leaves change from cylindrical in their lower parts to flat-topped in the upper parts. Leaf surfaces are faintly greenish white in picture with variably shaped dark to olive green markings scattered either randomly or in irregular longitudinal bands across parts of the leaves. White lines or reddish colouring appear along some of the angular leaf ridges, the margins of the flattish upper leaf surfaces, although not everywhere.

This subspecies is restricted in distribution to the Cederberg near Clanwilliam. The status of its population in nature has not been evaluated (Smith, et al, 1997; http://llifle.com; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
