    A jubilation of fecundity! Still green, but prolific, these Asparagus retrofractus fruits herald a great season.

    Growing near Worcester, the plant’s compatriots can be found from Namibia along the western reaches of South Africa to the south into the Eastern Cape. The plant may be abundant in several habitat types, although not in some parts of fynbos (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
