    Woolly fruits covering Eriocephalus ericoides subsp. ericoides after flowering becomes a spectacular affair. The Afrikaans common name of kapokbos (snow bush) requires no explanation.

    Dressed in white among new leafy branches also sprouting, this plant growing in shale near Oudtshoorn is clearly satisfied with the winter rain it received on the farm Minwater.
