    The sprawl of Lobelia coronopifolia branches is limited, the plant only a shrublet.

    The sparse, narrow leaves spread around each branch, particularly near the tip. The leaves are stalkless, spaced with long, pointed teeth or lobes. Leaf lobes seem more prevalent near the leaf tips (Manning, 2007; http://pza.sanbi.org/lobelia).
