The stout, cylindrical flower stalk of this Trachyandra growing above broad ground-level strap-shaped leaves branches into a panicle of several short, few-flowered racemes ascending around the central axis. Some inflorescence branches have secondary branches as well.
The buds elongate before opening above short, triangular bracts that appear pale brown to white and papery. The bracts dominate among the upper small buds but are left a bit behind by the maturing ones (Manning, 2009; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iSpot; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
