    The flower of Heliophila juncea may also be pink as in the photo. Its four elliptic to obovate petals spread widely around the small flower mouth. The petals become from 8 mm to 20 mm long.

    Shy stamens are visible in the mouth, not beyond. Blue-purple veins spread and branch across the petal surfaces, the main one like a midrib, particularly near the base.

    The photo was taken in the Gifberg during October (Manning, 2007).
