The early stage of a budding Indigofera amoena inflorescence reminds of a ripening mulberry. Dull maroon bracts with down-curved, pointed tips still conceal the corollas that are preparing themselves like a troupe of ballerinas waiting out of sight for the cue note (Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
