    After flowering, Cotula laxa fruit ripen and disappear one by one from the flowerhead into life as a new plant or as detritus for its molecules to become part of something new, maybe a life form.

    The flattened, elliptic fruit lacks a pappus (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
