Lapeirousia jacquinii flower bracts and tubes

Lapeirousia jacquinii flower bracts and tubes
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The bracts enclosing the bases of the Lapeirousia jacquinii flower tubes spiral around their shared, creamy yellow stalk.

These bracts are broad, short and curving to blunt tips, two-keeled near the base. They are longitudinally lined and yellow-green, marked by white patches near  each bract base (Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
