    Cassine peragua leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

These dark-green Cassine peragua leaves have greenish cream stalks, margins, midribs and finer venation. There is a faint gloss on the upper surfaces of the blades, the lower ones notably paler.

The marginal toothing is shallow and unevenly spaced, less prevalent towards the base. The leaves in picture ascend slightly, their petioles arched; the leaves of this tree may also spread or droop (Venter, 2012; Pooley, 1993).
