Lapeirousia plicata subsp. plicata flowers are nearly radially symmetric, the “lower” tepals, four in the case of the plant in picture, have dark purple-brown markings near the base. The elliptic to oblanceolate tepals have pointed tips, the margins often curving in in their upper parts, the blades concave above.
Flower colour is white or pale blue, the tepals softly fleshy. Only the oblong anthers are blue in the flower shown (Van Rooyen and Van Rooyen, 2019; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt. 1984; iNaturalist; www.pacificbulbsociety.org).
