    Leave people out of the story and there is no xenophobia in nature. That is if one doesn’t consider the fact that species consume each other as food. Long ago there was and under extreme circumstances there is cannibalism among people as well.

    Where the seed falls it strives to make a living. Discovering ones coresidents, whether animals, plants or what have you, comes later. Any or all the randomly acquired neighbours may pose challenges that will be endured, countered, succumbed to or capitalised upon.

    All of this forms natural part of the business of living. This business is of course focussed on the setting of seed, a task which happens in the fulness of time but without delay. For life is a serious matter.

    Crassula and Sarcocornia are juxtaposed here. The Smiths don’t always get the Joneses next door. Mostly there are others as well, look carefully!

    Some bystanders remain nameless for a while or forever, as not all that is near becomes important in ones life. The hand that is dealt is the one played. Life goes on as well it can. And life is good, albeit sometimes hard.
