The single-stemmed Acmadenia mundiana shrub develops a much-branched, spreading to rounded shape. It reseeds after fire.
The upper branch parts are densely leaved and erect, the lower stems leafless and woody. The plant is aromatic, being a duineboegoe (dune buchu). Buchu plants in general are well-known for their aromatic qualities.
The photo was taken in November, the plant having only few flowers scattered at the stem-tips (Manning, 2007; Mustart, et al, 1997; www.plantzafrica.com).
