Aloe knersvlakensis inflorescence

The inflorescence of Aloe knersvlakensis may branch into up to four racemes. The pedicels are long, the bracts subtending them small. 

The raceme shape reminds of A. arborescence. In colour its orange buds with brown tips and pale yellow to cream open perianths with tiny green tip markings convey the specific identity.

The angle of flower presentation from upturned beginnings to horizontal buds in elongation and pendulous open flowers are all present concurrently in the same raceme. This blooming pattern is consistently found in many Aloe species.

Flowering of A. knersvlakensis happens in the first half of autumn. The withered flowers low down in picture have resumed the erect position for the fruiting stage (www.cabdirect.org).
