Calobota sericea ripening pods

Ageing Calobota sericea pods change colour without great consistency. The chemical and physical events of drying fibres proceed in a unique microhistory every time, allowing latitude in the show of colours.

Shapes also change imperceptibly, consistent with the features of seed growth and dehydration. Old pod tips turn up slightly, while the styles take their time in dropping off. Only few, well-spaced seeds grow in one pod.
