Crassula nudicaulis var. platyphylla inflorescence

Flower clusters of Crassula nudicaulis var. platyphylla are sessile or short-stalked in picture. The flowers are densely together as if on too short stalks; a cluster may comprise more than ten flowers.

The flowers are only beginning to open, their purple, finger-like sepals still dominating in most cases. The creamy yellow corolla fronts elongate beyond the sepal tips before the petals will spread. The five sepals are free as the five petals (Frandsen, 2017; Smith, et al, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015).
