    The two spathes that enclose each Moraea miniata flower base differ in size. The lower one is shorter, soon drying from its top; the upper one often greener in a big part while the flower lasts. The pointed spathe tips are on opposite sides of the flower base.

    Clusters of flowers are followed by clusters of fruit capsules, initially green and longitudinally segmented. By this time the spathes are usually dry.

    The photo was taken in the Biedouw Valley during September (Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
