The full-frontal flower view of Disa hallackii shows the three petals inside the rounded hood or dorsal sepal. The tongue-like lip or median petal protrudes and curves down in the centre, dark blue (sometimes about black) with white margins. The lip is thus below, twisted down or resupinate as in most disas. In this species the lip becomes 8 mm to 11 mm long.

The smaller lateral petals are erect, small and dark. They are slightly sickle-shaped, wider near their pointed tips than at the base, positioned flanking the stigma.

The two lateral sepals are outstretched and concave at their tips as if in begging mode, ready to receive alms (Liltved and Johnson, 2012; Privett and Lutzeyer, 2010; iNaturalist).
