The branched stems of Dyerophytum africanum are straight, smooth and pale green or blue-green, covered in a waxy layer.
The plant is palatable to game and stock. This plant was seen among Namaqua klipkoppe in August (Williamson, 2010; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Eliovson, 1990; iNaturalist; http://gadi.agric.za).
