Gazania rigens var. leucolaena is a perennial coastal daisy that forms densely matted clumps to heights around 20 cm. (The Album entries with less woolly leaves were earlier thought to be var. uniflora.)
The daisy flowerhead has a ring of strap-shaped, yellow ray florets around a many-flowered yellow disc. The disc florets are tubular and deeply five-lobed. The rays are unmarked in this variety (Manning, 2007; iNaturalist; Wikipedia; http://pza.sanbi.org).
