Gorteria personata open disc florets

When Gorteria personata disc florets open in the middle of the black ring of ray floret bases, their pointed, yellow lobes spread. The corolla of each tubular floret ends in five pointed petal lobes.

The orange anthers of the stamens become exserted in the disc floret centre. There is also a linear style with branches present in each bisexual and fertile disc floret (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000).
