Pelargonium luridum flowering nearly white

Pale pink below to nearly white at the top of the umbel in picture, are common Pelargonium luridum flower colours. Slightly deeper but “drably pink” is also seen.

The large, rounded umbel-shaped inflorescence on a stout peduncle comprises flowers lacking petal markings, although several tiny longitudinal channels may be noticed on the petals. The upper petal pair is marginally bigger than the other three, not very different in appearance but also not radially symmetrical. Petal tips are pointed more than rounded.

A flower is up to 2,5 cm in diameter, the floral tube about 3 cm long.

P. schlechteri, the two-tiered pelargonium is similar, but its petals are purple-blotched (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
