The leaves of Aloiampelos striatula var. striatula are long and narrow, clasping the stems at the base. They recurve variably along their lengths and taper to acute tips. The leaf sheaths are striped. The succulent blades shine with a dark green colour and are channelled between the upturned margins. The marginal teeth are small and firm, the margins cartilaginous. The leaf sap is clear.
The leaf dimensions are 25 cm long and 2,5 cm wide.
Only upper stem parts have leaves. Older leaves tend to shrivel up and persist on the lower stems as a dry, pale brown covering. This does not only happen when winter temperatures are low (Van Wyk and Smith, 2003; Jeppe, 1969; iNaturalist).
