Bauhinia galpinii against sunlight

With sunlight from behind the Bauhinia galpinii petals, egg-shaped to triangular on stalk-like claw parts, present their veins here more strongly than the leaves do. Brick-read to orange and wavy, the petal limbs seem flimsy to gauzy.

The thread-like, slightly curving filaments of the flowers diverge, appearing as tall as the petals. The styles, one per flower, are also elongated and can look similar to the stamens but may be a bit straighter, the stigma differing in shape from the anthers (Manning, 2009; Coates Palgrave, 2002; Pooley, 1993; iNaturalist).
