    Pelargonium magenteum leaves

    Pelargonium magenteum leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The stalked Pelargonium magenteum leaves are heart-shaped to rounded, sometimes shallowly lobed and always coarsely toothed. The grey-green, sometimes yellow-green and velvety blades have veins radiating from the leaf base, sunken on the upper surfaces. Leaf diameter is about 2 cm.

The leaf stalks and pinkish upper stems of the softly woody plant are also faintly hairy. Small, narrow stipules are visible in picture at leaf petiole bases (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
