    The smooth, thinly fleshy leaves of Tulbaghia violacea grow strap-shaped from the base, erect with rounded tips.

    The umbels of mauve-pink flowers are presented on scapes taller than the leaves. Flowering happens during summer and sometimes early autumn (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Moriarty, 1997; iNaturalist).
