New and old Serruria fasciflora flowerheads are juxtaposed in the same inflorescences. Some still display five to seven thick, downy bud cylinders, pale pink topped with matchstick grey heads near the older styles, thin, rigid and dark red, pointing up a little further apart. Below the bare style bases their earlier garb, the white, worm-like perianth segments curve about randomly (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; Mustart, et al, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
