This straggling herbaceous shrub with its aromatic, white and woolly leaves is gaining horticulturally. Maybe enough to offset what it may be losing in traditional medicine uses and as impromptu bedding for al fresco sleeping.
Helichrysum petiolare has small cream coloured flowerheads in large flattish clusters at branch tips on long peduncles. They bloom in late spring and summer (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
