Helichrysum revolutum is an erect or sprawling, rounded shrub that commonly grows to 50 cm and often wider; occasionally reaching 2 m in height. The stems are soft apart from at the base, branching much and covered in white woolly hairs.

This plant occurs widespread from Namibia and southwards along the west coast to the western parts of the Little Karoo. Its habitat is coastal scrub in sandy soil or inland stony slopes (Manning, 2007; JSTOR; iSpot).
